A 35-year-old man died in his sleep on Jul 18, leaving behind his mother who has deformed feet and muscle atrophy.

A Shin Min Daily article wrote that Mr Guo Haiji (pinyin) was found dead by a neighbour and for 22 years, he had been the primary caregiver for his mother, Mdm Jenny Koh, assisting her in daily activities, including helping her to the toilet every morning.

“He really doted on me. As I have limited mobility, I depended on him to help me to the toilet. Now that he’s gone, I’m really heartbroken. What should I do in the future?” she told Shin Min.

She told Shin Min that aside from being on antidepressants, her son’s health had been fine all along.

Mdm Koh lived with her son in a one-room rental flat in Marsiling.
