Be proud for reaching this milestone amid pandemic: PM Lee to P6 students who received PSLE results
November 23, 2022
Studying and preparing for Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in a normal year is already tough, what more amid a pandemic?
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recognised this and took to Facebook to congratulate all students who receive their PSLE 2022 results today (Nov 23, 2022).
“You should all be proud of yourselves for reaching this milestone amid the pandemic,” he said.
“I hope you will enjoy the next stage of your learning journey in secondary school. It is a wonderful time to make friends, grow your talents, challenge yourself with new experiences, and embrace the joys of lifelong learning.”
Kudos to the parents and teachers too, as PM Lee reminded the children to thank them for their full support.
98.4 per cent of students can progress to secondary school
According to a Ministry of Education press release, 8.4 per cent of P6 students who sat for the PSLE progressed to secondary school.
The course eligibility of the 2022 Primary 6 cohort is comparable to that of the 2021 Primary 6 cohort, who first took the PSLE under the Achievement Level (AL) scoring system, it added.
The PSLE results were released today from 11am. A total of 37,095 Primary 6 students sat for the PSLE this year.
Of the 98.4 per cent, 68.4 per cent of the students are assessed suitable for the Express course, 18.7 per cent for the Normal (Academic) course and 11.3 per cent for the Normal (Technical) course.
Congratulations and well done!
