Having spent the last 11 years serving residents and walking the ground in Aljunied, Chan Hui Yuh will lead the People’s Action Party (PAP) team contesting Aljunied GRC in the upcoming General Elections.
“We have three professionals in the build environment. A healthcare professional and a unionist [in the team],” said Ms Chan, introducing her team in a press conference on Sunday (13 Apr). “It’s time for a change in Aljunied. Let us be your representatives in Parliament.”
Since 2014, Ms Chan has spent her weekends as a community volunteer in Serangoon, where she serves as PAP Branch Chairman. Through countless house visits, dialogues, and community initiatives, she has developed a deep understanding of residents’ aspirations and challenges.
Her efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic—mobilising care for isolated seniors and rallying support for families and small businesses—demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Aljunied residents.

Ms Chan will lead a team of equally dedicated individuals, all of whom have long histories of serving residents—not only as PAP activists, but as people who show up week after week because they care deeply about their community.
Daniel Liu, an urban consultant and longtime volunteer with over 11 years of service, had this to say.
“We are up against a tough opponent but we are here to defy the odds because we believe in our vision for a Better Singapore, and a Better Aljunied,” said Mr Liu. “Voters here don’t vote blindly. They want their representatives to work hard, to be humble and to listen.”
Mr Liu understands cities from the inside out. He has led grassroots events designed to foster intergenerational bonding and social inclusion, while also advising governments on liveable urban design.
His technical knowledge, paired with his years of local service, equips him with the skills to help Aljunied develop into a world-class town.
Dr Adrian Ang has over a decade of grassroots volunteerism work. As a Family Life Champion and Chairman of the Community Development Welfare Fund, he has worked closely with seniors and young families alike. He advocates tirelessly for vulnerable seniors, providing essential support for their financial and mental well-being to help them age with dignity.
As Director for Group Sustainability and New Business at Chye Thiam Maintenance Pte Ltd, he also understands the need for clean, well-maintained neighbourhoods.
Dr Faisal Abdul Aziz is a dental surgeon with deep roots in healthcare and education outreach. Since 2015, he has been active in Kaki Bukit, where he has led dialogues and programmes on disease prevention and mental wellness.
His advocacy for healthcare access and his compassionate leadership style reflect his broader vision for a Singapore that listens more, and leaves no one behind.
Jagathishwaran Rajo is a veteran grassroots leader with nearly two decades of community service. As a trade unionist, he has championed the rights of freelance and self-employed workers. As current Branch Chair in Eunos, he continues to engage with families, seniors, and youth to strengthen community bonds and promote emotional resilience.
What unites these five individuals is not just their professional experience—but their singular, sustained commitment to the people they serve. For Aljunied residents, electing Members of Parliament who have already spent years walking the ground means entrusting the town to hands that know every block, every void deck, every shared concern.
This team’s focus on town improvement is rooted in a firm belief that a clean corridor, a well-lit path, or a swiftly repaired lift isn’t trivial. It’s the foundation of trust, comfort, and pride in one’s neighbourhood.
With this PAP team, Aljunied residents can look forward to a future where town care is not just policy—it is purpose.
