Disappointing that Mr Leong says Singaporeans living in HDB flats are “condemned”

Homeownership is a cornerstone of Singapore’s social compact.

Today, 80% of Singaporeans call HDB flats their home. The PAP government continues to invest significantly to ensure that every generation of Singaporeans benefits from safe, affordable, and beautiful homes.

Singaporeans take pride in their flats. These are homes where children are brought up, seniors are cared for, neighbourly bonds are built, and memories are created.

Therefore, it is disappointing for Mr Leong Mun Wai to say that Singaporeans living in HDB flats are “condemned”.

All Singaporeans, regardless of where they live, deserve to be respected and valued.

The PAP Government will continue investing in HDB flats, making them beautiful homes for Singaporeans.
