We held the first Fullerton Rally in a decade yesterday, and our new PAP candidates shone brightly in the afternoon sun!
Sengkang’s Bernadette Giam spoke, in her usual, understated way, about the challenges facing mothers, and juggling raising children with a professional career. But she also spoke about all that we have done for families this year alone, lowering Child Care fee caps again, dropping them to as low as $640 a month, and launching a new shared parental leave scheme with 10 weeks of paid parental leave.
Tampines’ David Neo called on Singapore’s young people to chose the path of action and integrity. The younger generation are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the decision makers of today, and the choice is in their hands to turn ideas into action!
Nee Soon’s Goh Hanyan called for a society with hope, where we have great jobs that Singaporeans are excited to do, and where getting hope right, means tomorrow being better than today.
Jurong East-Bukit Batok’s David Hoe spoke about helping young people discover what they’re good at, outside of narrow academic pathways.
East Coast’s Hazlina made an impassioned defence of the PAP’s track record, with the new slate of candidates being able to build a Singapore that is kind to one another, that believes in each other and that steps forward together.
PAP Secretary-General Lawrence Wong ended the rally by explaining how our unity becomes a superpower in a world where might is right and where big countries force and coerce smaller countries to get their own way.
A clear mandate from Singaporeans means PM Wong’s team can speak up for Singapore confidently. And they will do their utmost to ensure this little red dot continues to shine brightly.
