Woohoo! NDP tix balloting is back

Here’s something to lift your Monday blues: You can now ballot for this year’s National Day Parade and two preview shows from today (Jun 6, 2022).

That’s right. After two years of low-key celebrations, NDP is back with a bang and will be held at the floating platform at Marina Bay with the organising committee targeting the upper bounds of the floating platform’s capacity of 25,000 to 26,000.

All spectators must either be fully vaccinated or certified to be medically ineligible for all vaccines under the National Vaccination Programme. Children 12 years old and under, regardless of vaccination status, are allowed into the parade.

Singaporeans or permanent residents may apply for two, four, or six tickets to attend one of three shows – NDP Preview 1 (July 23), NDP Preview 2 (July 30), or the actual day itself. All attendees will require a ticket for entry, regardless of age – infants carried in arms of adults included.

Application ends June 20 noon. Successful applicants will be notified via emails from June 27 to July 1.

Stronger Together, Majulah!

According to the organising committee, the theme Stronger Together, Majulah! is a call for all Singaporeans to forge ahead as a united and strong people towards a better future and also a rallying call for Singaporeans to strive for a better future as we emerge from Covid-19.

This year’s theme song, Stronger Together, is performed by Taufik Batisah.

Although things may change – as we’ve experienced the past two years – the fact that the organising committee has planned for a large scale physical event is a result of the hard work of Singaporeans and the deep reservoir of trust between the Government and Singaporeans.

The last two years are no walk in the park and only mutual trust has brought Singapore closer to a new normal of living with the virus.

The pandemic is not over yet and there remains work to be done but at least we can look forward to a joyous and spectacular Aug 9.
