It is the school holidays.
If you haven’t planned any overseas trip, consider the SG Cares Giving Week, which features a myriad of different activities for the whole family and a month-long Uncle Ringo carnival — yes, you read that right.
The carnival, which also doubles as a main giving hub, is one of 22 set up across Singapore.
At the launch of the carnival on Dec 1, Culture, Community and Youth Minister Edwin Tong told the Straits Times: “SG Cares Giving Week is a special time that brings us together to do good. The contributions of Singaporeans, corporate partners like Uncle Ringo, and our volunteer centres help ensure no one is left behind, and show how the collective efforts of different stakeholders in society can strengthen Singapore’s social compact.”
Here’s some activities you can expect at the carnival and 21 other giving hubs around the island.

The main event itself, there’s endless fun to be had at the Uncle Ringo carnival.
And here’s how you can have fun and do go at the same time. Uncle Ringo will be donating S$5 to Community Chest for every $100 worth of carnival credits purchased.
Besides the usual rides, circus acts and carnival games, SG Cares Giving Week partners such as charity organisations and social enterprises will set up shop there for the whole month.
For instance, participating booths include Heartware Network (Dec 1 – 7), Community Chest Sharity (Dec 1 – 14) and Forward Singapore Unite Exhibition (Dec 1 – 15), which is the first Forward Singapore roadshow.
