Green Jobs Platform is here to help you navigate the Green Economy

Are you curious about the Green Economy?

If you are, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor has some good news to share.

In support of the #SGGreenPlan, the Climate Action SG Alliance (CASA) has launched the Green Jobs WhatsApp Platform

The platform will serve as a space for job seekers to learn about green skills and discover green job opportunities, courses, workshops and events, said SMS Khor.

The Green Revolution is here

It can feel like a never-ending Geography lesson these days, with terms like “sustainability” and “net-zero” getting brandished in our faces left, right and centre.

Well, say hello to the Green Economy.

In the coming years, businesses will adopt greener technologies and environmentally sustainable practices to hit our Green Plan 2030 targets.

As a result, existing jobs would require green skills to meet these new developments.

According to Sustainability and Environmental Minister Grace Fu, the PAP Government expects to create over 55,000 new and upgraded jobs in the next decade as it pursues sustainable development.

Therefore, if you are looking for a career change or worrying about becoming obsolete in this brave new world, hedging your future on the Green Economy is a safe bet.

Take a look at some of the green skills that are likely to be in demand.

Given the increasing demand and need for green skills, it pays to be kiasu and look into how we can upskill and retrain ourselves in preparation for the future.

And that is why the Green Jobs Platform is a timely and meaningful initiative, said SMS Khor.

After all, equipping Singaporeans with the skills to take advantage of new opportunities is a priority for the PAP Government.
