PRIME MINISTER Lawrence Wong is building a Singapore where being well matters as much as doing well.
“I’ve always believed we can be tough on standards, on doing the right thing,” said PM Wong in a 55-second video released yesterday evening (24 Apr). “But we must also be kind, to listen, and to care.”
“That’s how we take Singapore forward. Not just through policies and plans, but with every Singaporean seen, heard, and cared for,” added PM Wong.
This vision of a kind and caring Singapore is what drives PM Wong’s landmark Forward SG exercise, which embraces new definitions of success, and which earmarks social support that better assures Singaporeans of their basic needs through every life stage.
This vision also drives PM Wong making mental health and wellness a priority. He is increasing the number of public sector psychologists by 30% to 260 by 2030, and introducing mental health services to all polyclinics.
This is PM Wong’s message, and his aim for Singapore in a changed world.
Watch it and take that step forward with us, together.
